The Spring Festival is an important event celebrated by Chinese globally. Families gather to conduct ”spring cleaning” and decorate their house with classic decorative pieces like red lanterns, paper cuttings, lucky bamboo, etc, to prepare their home for a brand new lunar year. In each piece of decoration, there is always a hidden positive message, for example, the red colour in the red lanterns symbolises luck, longevity and happiness. That is also the reason why red Ang Baos (Hongbaos) are given as tokens of good wishes during auspicious occasions such as Chinese New Year and weddings.
In preparation for the reunion and the 2 days holiday break,EEEAA would like to gather our members in this Ang Bao Decoration Workshop. An opportunity with your family, to learn as NTUEEEFamily on how people repurpose red Ang Baos to create centrepiece lanterns and decorative pieces. After this workshop, you can gather the abundance of Ang Baos received over the preceding year and create more for your home decoration or for your friends.
